Skin Peels and Chemical Peels from Hertfordshire’s leading Skin Care Clinic
Skin peels and Chemical peels or Acid Peels involve applying a chemical solution to the skin to remove its outer layers. How much skin they remove and how deep they penetrate will depend on the type of peel used, its strength and how long it is left on. At BeauSynergy we only use Superficial peels with a PH above 2.5. This level indicates how deep the peel will penetrate into your skin and how much irritation you may get.
Our Superficial peels are used to minimise fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, mild acne scarring, age spots and dry or flaking skin. They are usually made from alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy acids, known as AHAs and BHAs and include glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid. A course of between six and 10 treatments is usually recommended to achieve the best results. they only remove the epidermis (top layer of skin) and will leave your skin looking instantly brighter, smoother and with an even texture.
Our specific skin peels and chemical peels only remove the epidermis (top layer of skin) and will leave your skin looking instantly brighter, smoother and with an even texture.
Do Skin and Chemical Peels hurt?
The Superficial Skin and Chemical peels do not hurt, you only feel a slight tingling or stinging sensation, and have virtually no recovery time. You can be a little bit pink afterwards and may get some mild flaking of the skin but this can be disguised with make-up. You will then be ready and back to work without anyone knowing you have had this treatment.
Which Skin and Chemical peels to you do in Hertfordshire?
Glycolic acid comes in different strengths (30% – 90%) as well as different pH levels (the levels of acidity) which determine how deep the acid penetrates and therefore how much peeling you get. It treats fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage and improves skin texture and brightens your skin.
Salicylic acid is fairly unique as it can penetrate deeper into the oil glands causing exfoliation even in the oily areas of the face and scalp. This makes it ideal for treating acne and oily skin.
Lactic acid occurs naturally in our skin and also found in milk. It is less irritating than other Chemical peels and has a natural moisturising effect on the skin. It is perfect for skin brightening and used to treat pigmentation, dry or dehydrated skin, sensitive skin and rosacea.
Fruit enzymes come from fruits such as papaya, pineapple, pumpkin and cranberry. They are anti-bacterial, create cell renewal promotion and can digest oil from spots (sebum) and dead skin. They are used to treat rosacea, acne, hyper-reactive and dehydrated sensitive skin.
Malic acid comes from apples and pears and is a weaker AHA than glycolic acid. It is used to treat acne, photo-damage, rosacea and superficial pigmentation.
