Are you looking to resolve some of your skin concerns such as Skin Tags, Warts, Sun Damage or Verrucas?

Is CryoPen better than other alternative ways of removing Skin Tags, Warts and Verrucas?

Our Cryosurgery requires no anesthesia and has less scarring than other techniques of skin lesion removal. It needs very minimal post-treatment care.

The CryoPen is an advanced Cryotherapy innovation that uses extreme cold (liquified nitrous oxide) to freeze and destroy skin lesion tissues. It is fast, effective and an advanced new solution for the removal of skin imperfections such as sun damage, brown spots, ageing spots, pigmentation, skin tags, verrucas and warts on all areas of the body.

Many treatments are now no longer being performed by your local doctor / GP or the NHS. Therefore, it is good to know that, as an advanced cosmetic skin clinic, our safe Cryotherapy methods are now the solution to a number of your skin blemishes or concerns.

Why is Cryotherapy now available in Skin clinics?

BeauSynergy has been given a licence to now perform Cryotherapy in the skin clinic as it is currently not performed by local GP’s or the NHS. We are fully trained and experienced in using Cryotherapy on our patients. The treatment is quick and safe with minimal discomfort.

See FAQ for more detailed information about how the treatment is performed and your experiences.

Your Questions Answered

Your procedure treatment times are very quick and can be from 30 seconds to 5 minutes depending on the severity of the sun damage, pigmentation and brown ageing spots to be removed.

The CryoPen emits a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure. This destroys the tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid which then forms ice shards and crystals. The membrane is then ruptured and the cell destroyed. There is no damage outside the treated area and it’s incredibly accurate.

The area freezes and turns white. Then the white area thaws and a flushing occurs that turns the area red. This thawing is associated with a pinching sensation as a wheal is formed. This wheal may develop into a blister or not depending on the area of the body and length of freeze. The blister may last 3 – 5 days then begin to form a scab. The scab will fall off in 1-2 weeks. Depending on the extent of freeze and tissue area, a new scab may form and the process may be repeated naturally. The lesion will be completely healed in 2 – 6 weeks.

There will be a pain sensation similar to a stinging nettle on the skin when the nitrous oxide reaches the bottom of the area. There might be a little residue stinging for a few minutes after treatment. The area will be slightly itchy for about 10 minutes. Occasionally a blister may appear for a few hours.

CryoPen can treat all skin types and colour including Asian and black skin. Freeze times are adjusted to suit each individual client.

There are 3 recognised treatment rooms that are used to perform CryoPen. These rooms are private and conform to all the necessary health and safety government guidelines.

No. The extreme cold causes anesthesia soon after applied. This allows the procedure to be tolerable.

Usually we would only freeze 3 lesions per session to limit the degree of systemic inflammatory response. However, if the lesions are on the small side then a higher number of tags, warts or verrucas would be treated.

We regard CryoPen to have minimal risk with just a few potential side effects such as:

a) Pigmentary changes in the treated area. Normal skin colour will return in a few months. b) Where nerves are close to the treated area then potentially a little nerve damage may occur. Normal sensitivity should return within a few months. c) Hair follicle damage and permanent alopecia, especially when treating areas on sites with coarse terminal hair.

In a matter of seconds, you will have flawless skin as the CryoPen will have reduced and removed on all skin types – pigmentation, sun damage pigmentation, brown spots, ageing spots / marks / blemishes, skin tags and warts.

Yes, as long as the blister has not popped.

If the blister pops, then the use of an antibiotic cleaning solution and ointment is recommended. Covering the area with a bandage also promotes healing.

The CryoPen treatments are typically not done in areas with very thin delicate skin or limited blood supply or superficial nerves.

The skin therapists in the clinic are all at an advanced level with the necessary experience and qualified training to carry out the procedures.
