Semi-permanent makeup is perfect if you are tired of having to pencil in your brows as a result of hair loss or being over plucked, or you want to enhance your lips.
Lasting up to 5 years SPMU is often called Permanent make-up. Becoming more and more popular as the alternative to you wearing make-up each and every day. An almost painless treatment (3 on a scale of 1-10) will help beautifully define your facial features allowing them to stand out and become the focal points of “attraction”. An initial consultation is necessary to discuss the options available and to take patch tests if needed.

How does Semi-Permanent Makeup work?
Semi-permanent makeup, (also known as micro-pigmentation and cosmetic tattooing) uses a micro-needle to place coloured pigment under the skin giving the impression of makeup. This has the benefit of not constantly needing expensive cosmetics and maintenance.
The makeup is not permanent and fades over the course of up to five years, allowing our SPMU technician to change the look and colour of the makeup, as your skin tone changes.
If you are looking for your eyes or lips to become focal facial points of beauty or if you are unfortunate to have lost your brows to Chemotherapy or illness, then permanent makeup is a wonderful option to consider.
NOTE: Initial treatment would need between 2-3 sessions. Annual booster top-up required.

Your Questions Answered
What happens during the treatment?
Before starting the treatment, we undertake an in-depth consultation to identify any medical issues (cold sores, skin problems) you may have, as well as a patch test to ensure you have no reaction to the pigmentation we use. Once completed we’ll apply an anaesthetic cream to the face preventing any sensitivity being felt from the micro-needle.
How long does the treatment last for?
A semi permanent tattoo will last around 2 years. Top up treatments can be undertaken to preserve and keep the tattoo fresh.
Does SPMU hurt?
We use numbing gel as standard. Some clients indicate that it was painful, whilst others say they felt no pain. It really depends on your pain threshold.
Should I avoid any specific food, drink or medication prior to the treatment?
ON THE DAY OF YOUR TREATMENT
Please ensure that you eat prior to the procedure as this will help with your blood sugar levels.
24 HOURS PRIOR
We recommend you avoid taking any Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Alcohol and Coffee (Including caffeine drinks) at least 24 hours prior to the treatment.
If you are having Eyeliner treatment, any lash extensions should removed.
48 HOURS PRIOR
Do not undertake any tweezing, waxing or eyelash curling 48 hours prior to treatment
If you are having botox or dermal filler treatments please inform the therapist who will advise when these need to be stopped to ensure a smooth tattoo procedure.
7 DAYS PRIOR
If you are having a Lip treatment and you suffer from cold sores, please take any precautionary measures to ensure no outbreaks leading up to your treatment.
Are there any things I should avoid after the treatment?
Full aftercare instructions will be provided after the treatment. It takes around 10 days for the skin to heal, during which time these should be avoided:
- Excessive sweating (such as the use of sauna’s, steam rooms, long hot showers) etc.
- Avoid direct UV sun or artificial light.
- Do not pick or scratch the brows if they start to crust or scab. This is perfectly normal during the healing stage.
- Use waterproof aftersun on the brows.
- Avoid any skin or chemical peels as these will cause the pigment to discolour.
