Before we discuss the best in Acne Scarring treatments Hertfordshire based, we should understand the scarring’s causes.

Most of us will suffer with acne at some point in our lives. Usually a result of hormonal changes, which is why it is commonly associated with our teenage years, dealing with acne can be a painful and years-long battle for those who suffer to regain control over their skin. However, once the breakouts clear up, patients are often disheartened to find they are left with unsightly scarring that leaves even more of a dent in their confidence. At BeauSynergy, we offer a range of in-clinic acne scarring treatments in Hertfordshire, helping patients achieve the smooth skin they’ve been dreaming of.

What Causes Acne Scarring?

Acne scarring usually takes the appearance of pitted or raised pockmarks on the skin, varying depending on the severity and the individual’s own tendency to form scars. These changes to the texture of the skin are particularly common when the offending acne was squeezed, picked, or otherwise manipulated, which can cause wounds. The body’s natural healing process rushes to heal these wounds, producing a protein called collagen to help rebuild the skin, and this can result in permanent changes to skin texture and tone. When too much collagen is produced, a raised scar occurs, and when they are pitted, it is a sign that not enough collagen was produced. Patients who seek treatment for acne are more likely to avoid scarring, however, when it occurs there are plenty of treatment options to help minimise the appearance of acne scarring when it does occur. At Beausynergy, we offer the best acne scarring treatments for the most effective results, including laser treatment for acne scarring.

Acne Scarring Treatments at Beausynergy

At Beausynergy, we encourage all patients to schedule a face-to-face consultation so that a member of our expert team may assess the condition of the skin and get a feel for your unique wants and needs, allowing us to tailor our approach to your needs. However, in the case of acne scarring, this can be accomplished during a free 15-minute skin discussion. The main treatments we recommend for acne scarring, depending on each patient’s unique needs, are Microneedling or the Fibroblast Plasma Pen. In some cases, these treatments can be used in conjunction with one another.

During Microneedling, tiny needles are moved over the skin to create a series of microwounds. These wounds stimulate collagen production for rejuvenated skin and minimising the appearance of scar tissue. There are a number of methods of Microneedling, from theDermaroller, in which the needles are rolled over the skin, or the Dermapen, which contains a series of pins that are electronically maneuvered rapidly and up and down to create micro-wounds. Dermapen is better suited for smaller, targeted areas. Most Microneedling treatments are carried out over three sessions for best results. The Plasma Pen uses different methods for the same purpose to stimulate the production of collagen within the skin. The delivered Fibroblast Plasma, delivered by the Pen from above, energises the gas below the skin’s surface. The stimulated Fibroblast cells form connective tissues that produce collagen within the skin.

We recommend LED light therapy after all acne scarring treatments. This helps promote safe and healthy healing be regenerating new skin cells and providing strength or hydration to the skin. In some cases, it may be advised to continue long term LED treatment long after the healing process is over for continued benefit to the skin.

The cost of acne scarring treatment will vary from patient to patient, depending on their personalised treatment plan, and will be further discussed during your consultation.
